Boxing Day 2022!

We visited friends in Victoria and they had an extra frozen goose.  It was giving in a food drive donation in the cities food bank kitchen.  There were lots of people with tinned and dried goods there too.  The roads were icy and snow was still piled along the roads.  When we see our friends in that city the sea is wonderful to look at from their large bay windows.

Queen Elizabeth's Passing...It Is A Sad Day Today.

After the summer vacation was over, I'm back to my teaching position.  Today, when we all heard the sad news world-wide, our faculty quickly had the flag lowered to half-mast in mourning and respect.  Queen Elizabeth and her family visited Canada for over 70 years on their royal duties.  Canada is a beautiful and inspiring and enjoyable country to visit and live in.

Happy B.C. Day 2022!

Our B.C. Day long weekend holiday was so pleasant because of the warm weather.  We spent most of our time visiting our grown children and their families.  After a few days we left on a painting sojourn by kayak and explored and painted the beautiful Say Nuth Khaw Yum Provincial Park, once known as Indian Arm Park.  The water trip along this fjord was so lovely and we're hoping to do another one later in the fall.

A Wonderful Victoria Day 2022!

We left early this morning to visit family in Victoria.  We went to see my wife's parents which grew up in this capital city many years ago.  Beacon Hill park is just behind their very large Victorian house, built by her grandparents in the late 19th century.  Our dinner was in the south westerly area of their gardens and the sun was warm but there's been quite a lot of rain this year in British Columbia.  Some sketching took place only in oils of the large flowering magnolia trees and we left in the late evening to get back to the mainland.
