Boxing Day in Port Hardy 2020
We left quite early this morning on Boxing Day to visit our long-time friends in Port Hardy. We never really stayed to long and we all waved and greeted each other behind their windows for safety from this global pandemic. We had such a happy time during this Christmas Holiday and we did use our phones to talk while we all looked at each other and socialized safely.

Merry Christmas To Everyone And Stay Healthy 2020
We spent this Christmas Day walking along the forest trails near our property. Some friends of ours came down from Nanaimo to visit and we were all masked and keeping safe with our social distance. It was a beautiful Christmas Day and like most people we all had a small family party.

Merry Christmas Eve 2020
We just arrived this Christmas Eve at our cottage on Vancouver Island. It was a nice drive along the island highway but it was a cold night and some light flurries but very pleasant. We've adorned some of our outdoor trees with Christmas lights and they really look beautiful. One of our oldest trees in the front garden has lots of decorations and a pretty star on top.

Happy Labour Day 2020!
We've been spending the last week at our summer home on the sunshine coast. It's been warm and this evening the clouds rolled on in and we had lots of friends visiting. Many of us did some sketches of the lovely spruce and pine trees around our property, with the very interesting cloud formations. The party was spent mostly outdoors near our rose garden and we will be travelling back tonight to start work tomorrow.

Happy Victoria Day 2020!
We visited some friends today on Salt Spring Island and did some painting. The ferry the next day was an early sailing and we arrived at our hotel in Victoria. Not many tourist this year due to the Covid-19 but the weather was mild and lovely. We drove and visited family and they live near Jordan River, they have such a pretty house with a splendid view of the sea!

Forest of the Snowdrops 2020
Travelling along these trails of green,
Forest snows frozen, then thawed from this winters sun,
Storms of the whites so brilliant on that subtle canopy of green,
And the tone of impressions are the flowers of the snowdrops,
Petite and abundant the wild ones are always the prettiest,
As they live to show themselves fully on this chilly day,
Nature will try too preserve them into the next night,
So unique and hardy in this quaint rolling valley,
It is only the trees that lie silent,
As more flowers below hedge up to the awakening Spring of our walk,
Our vital memories challenge us along,
Thus accompanying us on our knowledge of this beautiful woodland,
The quiet little birds lay low and fly between the small plants,
They'll sing their winter songs and feed on this winters sustenance,
When the density of Spring returns,
All is shrouded once more in this jungle of green,
And living perfection.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2020!
We visited our family back in Victoria and celebrated the New Year 2020. Next morning we hiked along the trails in Mount Tolmie and the view of the city was lovely. The wind was chilly and there was no snow yet and we spent a couple more days around Victoria visiting more friends which still live there.
